I would suggest a lower angle and brighter top light and fill. Lead your subject in and make 'em hungry. Food is alwasy prettier when it's glowing. This is of course assuming you're going for a classic cookbook style shot. I really like the styling you did on the pie and the set design.

that wood in the background is great, really matches the pie...maybe it would be interesting to see more of that incorporated somehow...?
