My new toy

...photographed with a phone. Megan included for scale.

An attempt at the abstract

I am very formalistic and literal so trying to do abstract is difficult but this was my attempt. I used a couple different filters to help aid the composition...I kinda like it; what do you think?

Hey all you blurbers, dont forget to make your books public and fill out your profile. I am on the second page of books in the arts and photography section! It's good exposure to have

Resurrection

Enveloper Inc.

This company is really cool. If you're thinking of putting together self promo mailings after you graduate, they have lots of really nice envelopes, and folders in really great colors. I got the envelopes for my Grad announcements through them, and they are really wonderful quality.

An ode to Henri

This is an image from the Decisive Moment assignment we had for Non-Fiction. Its insparation was from Henri Cartier-Bresson's "Hyeres".

Negative Space

I scanned in some negatives from a negative space assignment we had for 264 and I'm interested to know what everyone thinks. They had good reviews in class, but I think they where just being nice. Kidding. I have an interest in the way the darkness draws you eye to the lit image and I also did something similar for my 106 final. This is something that I wish to continue in a series, any suggestions or critics?

Recover your images from memory cards

PhotoRescue offers image file recovery from corrupted memory cards and can also recover files accidentally erased from the cards.

It's available for Mac/PC and it's only $29.

PhotoRescue costs much less than most other data recovery tools. They usually range from $50-150.

Going to Grandma's

My attempt at shooting a desolate landscape by including as little foreground as possible.

Book Cover

What do you guys think?

Sending the book to Blurb

When you send off your book to Blurb, best to allow at least an hour, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

When you're ready to order in Booksmart, the book upload can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour or more depending on the number of images in your book. Mine was a 35MB upload for a 78 page book and only took about 10 minutes, granted this was on a fast wireless connection not being used by other people at the time.

I wouldn't recommend uploading your book on a connection slower than broadband, because it could take quite a while.

**** Update ****

If you're sending your book out after Sunday, you should be able to get UPS Second Day Air shipping for only a little extra. I ordered the Hardcover Large Format Landscape option and the UPS Ground shipping was $11, the Second Day Air was only $15.

Good luck on your book!
