So what do you all think of these pics for my advanced color cell phone pics project? I've been doing some shooting but am trying to figure out whether to do full portraits or show some variations and I like these two detail shots, and actually kind of like how they go together, but was wondering if anybody else finds this work interesting so far.

I think I like variations. Maybe you could tie them all together with a recurring color or some other aesthetic theme. I think Ian asked about this on your previous post, but I wonder if you can accentuate the grainy-ness or some other aspect that draws attention to the fact that they were taken with a cell phone. On a side note...I actually saw a book at the MSU bookstore that was named something like, "How to Take Better Pictures with Your Cell Phone." :)
yeah I have been having a hard time coming up with how to tie stuff together the way you're saying. I will look into the grain/noise thing. And the last comment is funny because the friend who's a model in these pictures sent me a wiki-how on taking better cell phone pictures.
If you do check out that book I would try to do the opposite of what the book says. It seems to me like the point of the project is to take crappy cell phone images to the next level. I like the grain but I wish there was more. Variation I think is going to be key because I love the image of the legs. The images are hip but the style gives it that dirty feel that makes the image fall into place with your process. I'm excited to see what else you'll come up with.
Hey James...I wasn't actually suggesting that he USE the book...I just thought it was a bit ironic. The phrases "camera phone" and "good photos" seem a bit oxymoronic (at least for non-photographers).
