R Bar Sale

Check it out yo! I sold this image of the R Bar and the framing for it this week! Woot. Very exciting indeed.

Adv. Color

My Adv. color final has been extremely frustrating... but I do somewhat enjoy the challenge. Here are a few new images.
(to sum up my premise: Landscape (rural and urban) meshed with fashion product photography).

Website Traffic Information Tool

I just recently discarded the stat counter on my website and signed for a FREE account with Google Analytics. It is extremely informational and easy to use. It will tell you exactly how many people visited the site, what pages they visited, average time on each page, etc..., and compare it to previous weeks, months, whatever. This is an extremely resourceful tool and its FREE! Use it.

Draft Horse Team

This is a photo from my spring break photographs. I just started scanning the 14 rolls I took. They are all for my Adv. Color Final. I am making a book about ranchers and farmers. This man still feeds his cattle with a team of draft horses. This is a portrait of him after the 4hour ride feeding.

By the way....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful when picking Personal Vision prints up from the studio. One of my frames got scratched up pretty bad and it was a brand new one. So, to save other frames from the same fate, please be conscious of other people's stuff.

Just for you Amanda!

Ok, so here is some stuff from my senior. I'm dealing with murder scenes. I have many more, but I chose some ones that I like the best so far.

Spring Break Rocks!!

I spent spring break in Reno with my family and my 6x7. Here are 2 images I took in the surrounding areas. The first one was taken on the mighty Truckee River, and the second one is on Lake Tahoe. I have no idea why i photographed so many rocks. Pentax 6x7 with Kodak Pro 100 (Expired in 1999)

Checkout also has an instruction manual that you may peruse, or you may download this PDF version of the operating manual if you're into having a copy of your own to keep on hand. spring break

I had the perfect spring break. A week of skateboarding and camping with seven friends in Washington and Oregon can't be beat. These are for my NonFiction final, where I will be creating a magazine article about the trip. I will post a PDF of the mag on here when it's done.

I'm a guest blogger today...

I don't know a lot about this photography marketing website yet, but I "met" Skip through Twitter. He saw something I tweeted, checked out my website, and called me to chat about my personal projects. In the course of the conversation, he asked if I would be willing to "guest post" on his blog. I said sure! Anyway, the "focus" of what we talked about was the importance of doing personal projects, so I geared my post to that, along with how that intertwines with what's going on in my life at the moment. Check it out if you wanna. Thanks!

Anyone want some leftover supplies for building a lightbox?

I have some random leftover supplies from building my lightbox that I am wanting to be rid of soon. I am tired of it taking up space. I have like half a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood, a small can of white paint, screws, nails, etcetera. Any takers? It might save you a couple of bucks, and if your lightbox is going to be small than you already have enough wood!

Apparently I love double exposing film

I figured since I wasn't going anywhere for spring break, I would just process film from last spring break, and other various excursions. Some accidental double exposures, thought they were kind of fun.

Vancouver

Hope everyone is enjoying their Spring Break. Just thought I'd share a few images I've taken while up in Vancouver for a few days.

Holter Art Museum

If you're headed up to the Holter to see Marta's show, make sure you also take the time to look at the work by Marie Watt on display.  She is a great person who makes striking work.

some picture takins

i experimented with shooting a roll of 35 mm in my holga last week. I really love how the sprocket holes are incorporated in the image. unfortunately the piece of black tape i thought was light tight actually allowed light through the window on the back of the holga and thus came to be the red streaks... but i dont mind them too much..

Finally!

After a year of gathering materials and actual construction, I finally finished my light box capable of printing 16x20 prints. Instead of writing the 3 papers i have due tomorrow and the one i had due yesterday i decided to finally finish the wiring on this bastard. Thank you procrastination(the art of keeping up with yesterday) and hello progress. We should totally have some printing parties this summer! Just for your information, this cost me $400 for materials and lots of troubleshooting and headaches. If i can appease anyone else who is interested in building one I would be happy to divulge some info to make it easier on them.

Scanning Issues

Has anyone ever distressed color negatives? I am doing so for the first time and whenever I try to scan I get a cyanotype-like color cast that I can't get rid of. Assignment is due tomorrow and if I can't scan...I can't print. Help! Any suggestions?

Congrats to Stephanie

At SPE this weekend Stephanie sold her first gum print to Colorado University at Boulder for their collection.

the most recent diptychs . next time Ill have an example of text with an image...Im not sure how I want to do that yet though...Ive been having thoughts about separating the images and having the text between them or something...or should I not stray from the diptych theme at all?
