Oops.

So I seriously underexposed 3 or 4 of my 4x5's for Ian's large format assignment. I scanned them anyway, for fun. But now I'm seriously considering doing this to half a box of perfectly good film...
Except for the long stringy ones, I just left the dust in these.

Student choice awards for Senior

What awards would people like to see for Senior? Some ideas. . .
  • Student choice award / vote among the senior class for the top 3 projects?
  • Faculty choice award
  • Audience choice award (voting at the show)
  • an award named after a famous contemporary photographer?
Let's get some creative names before the critique/show.

Enjoying Spring in Bozeman?

Butte 4x5 Project

So here are my 3 best image from the Butte trip a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately WHCC made my prints much darker than they should be, not sure what that's about since my senior images look just fine. Oh well, ignore my photographs in class today and look at these ones on the blog. Hang in there everyone, the year is almost over!

New layout and new text

Here is a new layout and new text. Better on both, one or neither. Its off to print tomorrow so, just a few last tweaks. Thanks

Costume portraits

If anyone has five minutes tonight to help pick the best one of these portraits, I'd really appreciate it. Please include the last two digits of the file names with any comments. Thank you!

Looking for feedback

I'm looking for some feedback on an experiment I'm working on. The latest installment can be seen here, but if you'd like to see them all to get some context, here's the whole saga. If you leave a comment, please do so on my blog rather than here. It's easier for me to keep track of them when they're all in the same place. Thanks!

Art Sale

Mark your calendars. Free booze, food, a silent auction, and artwork priced to sell. Including hand colored and gum prints by Chris Anderson. Who knows, after a few glasses of Anna's magic punch, I'll probably be priced to sell as well.

Page Layout

Hey guys. Im putting the finishing touches on my senior and the final product is a 12x12 book and I want to know what you think of my layout. Each image is on a page with text and time, just imagine a spine in the center. What do you think of the font? Thanks

Aidan

O.K. Here's another. I reduced the green a bit.

Kaylie

I am trying to figure out the look I want for my Norita project. The top is straight and bottom is with a C41-E6 curve. Let me know if you have a preference.

Websites

I hope you all have noticed changes to the side panel. We are looking to expand our links, especially for alumni and current student websites. So, if your website is live, or if you know an alumnus who has a website, please let me know so i can link to it.

Behind the scenes...

Yesterday I had the pretty awesome opportunity to photograph Mark Hoppus from Blink 182. It was a fun shoot, with a fake octopus... Today he posted some behind the scenes iPhone action to his blog. Check it out!

Image sizes for the blog

Just a little note to help everyone see the full images without scrolling.

When resizing your images in Photoshop for the blog:
  • Horizontal image dimension should be 1000 pixels or less
  • OR
  • Vertical image dimension should be 700 pixels or less
Note: the most common screen resolutions are 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 800.

Color FInal-need help picking

So I need some help a couple of these are really similar and I'm having difficulty editing. And on the top ones, is it two redundant if I use a couple of them?

Color Final

Here are some more billboards I shot today. These are just RAWs. Your thoughts?
