I just wanted to repost the janitor image because of the posterized colors, and post this portrait of Adam and Jenny because I thought it was fun. Aren't they just so cute
If you look at Adam's hand you will see that he is holding the cable release and took the picture himself. I have been working on a project for the last year to set up these "self-portraits." I am really interested in the relationship between what I see in the subject and how they see themselves. I set up the shot to my liking and then turn my back to make them one on one with the camera. It makes it unique when you use such a large camera and put it right in there face. The shot of "Kevin", my air force friend, was shot the same way. I have several more shot this way and I have loved the outcome of most all of them... I am wondering how well I shoot people when I push the shutter... It seems that there is more space between me and the subject. When I first started this series, I took pictures of them shooting themselves, and they were all shot further away than the view camera. Do you think that would add more to these self portraits? And yes Kelly this was filled with a reflector from below... can't fool you.

I love the portrait of Adam and Jenny
I agree with Kelly, I think the one of Adam and Jenny is extremely strong. Beautiful lighting too.
The awkwardness that you are going for is working well here. I want to know what is in his hand, and that makes me want more.
I'm really curious about the glow on their faces. Is it natural light or did you use a reflector from below?
However you did it, it's really successful.
