Negative Mordancage

These are prints from the 4x5 negatives I worked on in Experimental last week. I'm pretty happy with the results given it was my first time doing anything with the mordancage process, but there is definitely a lot of room for improvement. Aside from the obvious aesthetic effect, other things I noticed when I printed these were a decrease in negative density (3-4 stops in the enlarger), a significant drop in contrast (2.5 filter before, 4.5 after), and an almost total loss of highlight detail where it hadn't veiled. If you have patience, a gentle touch, and don't mind an imperfection here, there, or everywhere, I'd recommend trying it!

the top one is very elegant. the process accentuates the imagery most.

The first image is by far the strongest to me. The process compliments the image. It almost appears as if there are angel wings around her.

In the third image, the mordancage overpowers the image itself.
