Google Maps Street View

I have been interested in google maps for awhile now. Its cool to see any location on the planet from a satellite. Its even more fun to see the street view. Using Google Maps Street View I was able to find some photos I have taken. From there I spent time on street view looking for photos that I would want to take, and re-photographing what Google had already done.

Might be interesting to photograph what you can't see with Google street view.?

Also, I saw this one time, thought it was an interesting idea

The highway images aren't all that interesting to me, but I think this approach could be really interesting in a more urban/suburban environment.

I also wonder if it wouldn't be more successful if you were to use Street View to show a more general view, and to focus on specific details when you photograph the area (get closer, change the angle, etc.).

I think this is a really cool idea to branch off of. It could be a really great project if you get creative with it. I know in LA there are a lot of street views with houses in construction when the Googlemobile went by, it would be interesting to see how they've changed in the couple years since they were first Googled.

Soon enough Google will have photographed everything on earth. So I would suggest to make images that are unique and more subjective than the "objective"views of Google. Otherwise whats the use of a photographer?
