OH-58D Kiowa Warrior

The new website is almost finished. It's scheduled to go live sometime monday evening, so you can check it out next week if you are bored. It feels good to have a real website.
But for now, here's a picture of a helichopter.
Canon EOS 1D Mk III, 70-200/2.8L IS, 1/8000th, F/4, ISO 100, -2.0 EV

We usually get an Air Weapons Team escort anytime we are out on mission, and lately it has been Kiowas. They are smaller and lighter than Apaches or Blackhawks, so they always fly like 25-50m off the ground and then suddenly swoop up in the air.

I always keep a camera in my turret, which is where I got this. Cranked the exposure comp down a couple of stops and waited until he was by the sun.

Loving your images, but you spelled helicopter wrong. Just sayin'.

Nope, heli-chopters. Heard it from a friend's 4 year old. It stuck and is now part of my vocabulary.

That works.
