Deerfield River Watershed

So I've been plodding around the Deerfield River Watershed in Massachusetts for my research grant and am starting to make photographs (as well as kayak).  Here are a couple quicky proof scans of what I have so far.  I am still finding direction, but any feedback is welcome.

really like the bottom image. and the top image doesn't bother me at all but the two paired together seems a bit obscure. I don't really see the direction or for that matter what emotion is being conveyed.

Imma let you finish, but both of these are lacking the collin avery-esc obscurity. Both are too literal and don't leave me questioning the reason you took these photos. I want to see images that most people wouldn't take photos of, but done in a way that makes them visually beautiful. More like "2 trees" on your blog. subtle, yet there is a definite focus on what drew you to the scene. These 2 seem a little too obvious and simple to be able to hold up, or surpass, your previous work.

I agree with John these are missing the collin-ness. but i really like 2 trees.
