New Header Please

O.K. I though we had some takers for posting new headers? The current one shows someone (no names mentioned) who is not holding a camera correctly. Not a good advertisement for the program.

There's a correct way to hold a camera? I thought you just kinda held it out there, pushed the button, and hoped for the best.

Naah, ya gotta rest your hand under the lens, so you get more stability (thumb is on the left of the lens and points up towards the sky). Hold the camera with the lens resting on your thumb (as in said photo) and you look like an amateur, and you are more likely to get camera shake.

Ok, not sure if you knew I was kidding... :)

I am glad that you were not touring Brazil looking like an amateur. I was just making sure, as I see many students holding their cameras the incorrect way.

Uh huh...never said I don't hold the camera the "incorrect" way. ;) My initial comment was simply humor/sarcasm...but I'm done now. :)

I hope that it is clear that I was sort of kidding (also half serious) too. I don't anyone to be offended that I am making fun of the way they hold their cameras.

Considering that we all go or went to that school perhaps there should be a camera holding course? Maybe 4 credits worth? Now I can't stop think about how I have held my camera in the past...may need professional help...

Ian you count your breaths and exhale when you push the shutter too?

We could do a whole class on a holding technique called "Da Grip" popularized by Joe McNally.
