George Georgiou's modern Turkey project on FeatureShoot

George and his wife Vanessa Winship came and talked a few years ago in the VCB, and he showed us this project, then a new body of work. It just showed up on Feature Shoot this past month. Pretty neat stuff. He shoots with a cheap point-and-shoot camera, which I was a little conflicted about when he came to lecture, but re-investigating his images, it obviously doesn't matter what the hell camera you use. I believe this work was showcased at MoMA in 2010. Cool stuff.

A Day Of Camera Obscura Progress...

The Camera Obscura Project had some real progress on Friday.  We got together in Cheever and had a nice long afternoon of brainstorming, model creating, and caffeine abuse.  We are now well on our way to creating a aesthetically pleasing Camera Obscura.  Here are just a few pictures of our progress...

We tore up some old overhead projectors and salvaged their lenses and mirrors...

We examined some models made by very talented architects...

We even let Patrick play with our 600mm press camera lens...
We turned a room into a camera obscura...
 Clare drank coffee...
And here are our two multifaceted professors cracking the whip.

I also have a whole bunch of expired film including maybe 20 rolls of Kodak Plus-x (now discontinued). It too has been kilt in my fridge. I'll off those for $3 a pop. Some is more expired than others, some have a few months on me. Let me know if your interested in expired film, I have a lot of a lot.

If anyone is into 4x5, I have 7 boxes of 50 sheets (350 total) Kodak e100 slide. This stuff expired back in 08-09 but has been frozen since. I'll sell each box for $35, they were $180 originally, but that was a while ago.

If I sell some, cool, if not, I'll shoot it. Let me know if you need anything.
