Terrific news photo by Tyler

http://www.montana.edu/cpa/news/nwview.php?article=9751&pid=2 Tyler Busby is nearing the end of his news photography internship. This photo is, in my opinion, a culmination of weeks of dedication to AP-style news photography, interviewing and caption writing. This is the kind of picture that would run on the front page of just about any small-town newspaper. Make note of his composition and success at getting all the necessary 'players' in the photo to tell a concise story.

Feeling unmotivated to go out and shoot?

Today I came across a bird photographer (aviagrapher?..heh) who loves his craft so much that after a day of shooting, came back with his D3 looking like this:
It made me feel guilty for the days I have decided not to bring a camera along, for the days I decided to go shoot "tomorrow," and for the days I procrastinated until the good light was gone and it was already lunch time (or bed time). You can see the images he took here.
Apparently the camera still works great, after a bit of cleaning and drying of course.

2 Final Portraits

A couple of portraits for my upcoming 260 Final Project. Let me know what you think! Love, Kurt

Thievery in the VCB

Though my title is cute and rhymie, theft is not cute. If you took my paper, give it back. If you hid my paper, give it back. There is no reason for someone outside the program to take 30 feet of photo paper, so it has to be someone in the building. give me my paper back.

Platinum Curve

Does anybody have a platinum curve for Fabriano I could have?

There are some more on my blog. Let me know what you think!

Call for Entries: Synthesis | Mixed Media Photography

An opportunity to submit work to a mixed media photography show. The cost to submit work is considerably low and can all be done online.

Beauty In Darkness

These night photographs are examples of where I'm headed for my Color 260 Final. I'm photographing objects within low light areas capturing them in a state of silence. Using the artificial light of street lights, internal and external house lights I hope to expose colors that are not normally seen by the human eye. Let me know what you think. Check out more on my blog.

Lake Elmo I

A few weeks ago I was photographing in Billings in an area known as Lake Elmo. I used 3200 iso film just to play around with the high grain. I'll probably post the rest eventually. What do you all think?

Mustache Dash n From the Car Pictures

Dan McDonald and I road tripped it to Missoula this Saturday. I found a Yashica Mat EM medium format camera so I was able to shoot film and Digital. Can't wait to see the film. These are from the car on the way back to Kalispell. Just for Funzees. I've posted many more photos from the trip to my Blog.
