THE PHOTO DEPARTMENT NEEDS YOUR HELP!!

As you’ve probably heard, John Hooton is retiring at the end of next semester. There is a real possibility that the Dean of Arts and Architecture will not rehire his position. Instead, they may take our third faculty line away, to presumably hire another film professor. The removal of the third faculty would hurt our department drastically; instead of a new third professor to improve our classes it would strain Chris and Ian with extra responsibilities. We all know how much John, Chris, and Ian have put into our program to get where it is today and the removal of the third faculty would result in the DISSOVLING OF OUR PHOTOGRAPHY OPTION- AS WE KNOW IT- OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS!!! This absolutely sordid, disgusting, and wrong to me and I hope it is to you too! This is a bad idea, period. I plan on writing the Dean a letter in opposition of this decision IMMEDIATELY, and I encourage you all to do the same. Please spread the word to your art and film friends, as well.
