Senior Images

Hello all,
Just wanted to throw up some images from my last shoot for my Senior. Besides the obvious color difference, what look are you liking on the model, and is the lighting working for you? I went a little more dramatic ( not a lot, I know!). But let me know, thanks!

They are pin-ups (somewhat modest) displaying women in a range of roles, men and female stereo typical roles. So far i have a plumber, carpenter, cook, and now sewing.

The lighting looks so much better. Really like the Idea of her sewing her dress. Not a huge fan of the sitting down pose. Your model looks a little cramped. Did you do any standing ones? Also I like the smile more then the serious one, but the faces aren't really sexy either way. She looks happy and mad, I don't want to have dirty thoughts with either. It's in the eyes! That come hither stare.

I like the one on the left better. A little more attitude, not just a generic smiley face. And I like how her dress looks like it's being pulled by the sewing machine, it creates a tension that helps with the whole image.

I like the one on the left better too. I don't like the smiley face thing. But I'll agree with Dan and say that the dress on the left is really cool. I like the feeling that I'm starting to get from this image.

I'm not sure I get "pin-up" from this, but aside from that I like the one with no smile. I agree with Marta, the sitting down pose doesn't do much for me, maybe that's what's straying me away from the pin-up idea. I want to see more. How many have you done so far?

For explanation of the sitting pose, you general sit when do such a thing:) And I'm getting way different opinions overall about the smile versus no smile, I personally prefer the no smile in most of them. In term's of pinup, I think I want to throw that word away haha, I'm still working on how to define what I'm ultimately going for, and I'm sure it will change throughout the semester. I have 4 sessions done so far, but will more than likely reshoot 3 of them and work on the technical aspects a little more.

I do have a lot more poses with her standing that I'll put up as soon as I get them somewhat edited!

The smile worked in some of the ones we saw in class last time. I dont think it works here. The non-smile fits better for this pose and is "sexier", in my opinion.

i agree with marta about the standing versus sitting comment...i think that it doesnt matter necessarily if what she/he is doing needs to be completely usual or normal or accurate....aesthetically, i want from your images more of a disconnection between your models and what they are interacting with in the photograph...a sense of haphazardness or clumsiness or silliness or hopeless determination i think would add an element of fragility that is so obviously expressed in most pin-up magazines...even if you are moving away from "pin-ups" i think its something to consider
