Senior Poster

Alright Seniors, for those of you not hooked to FB (congrats Dan, I admire you). We've come up with a plan to work in multiple images into the Poster/Postcard. (I realize it sounds weird if you have not seen what I'm talking about, but it'll work well). I want to give everyone a chance to be in on this, (although you certainly do not have to submit if you don't want to)- if you would like 1 image to be included please e-mail it to me (high-res) @ nettlesphotography@gmail.com by 10pm tonite. If I receive it by tomorrow morning I may still be able to work it in, but it's not guaranteed. I should have a mock-up available to view Monday or Tuesday. I'll keep ya posted. Thanx!

Photo Checkout Schedule Adjustment

As a minor adjustment to Photo Checkout's operating hours next week, we'll be open from 8 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, December 14th, instead of until 10 pm. Tuesday, as you may know, is the evening of the Senior Photo show, so you should head on down to the Baxter to see what everyone has been working on this semester! Again, photo checkout's new hours for Tuesday, December 14th will be from 8 to 5 instead of until 10 o'clock.

Senior Critique and Senior Show??

Could anyone tell me when the Senior critique is happening? Also, I don't remember seeing anything posted yet about when the Senior Show is happening. . .if someone could also post comment with that date, you earn extra brownie points!

fictional situations

Sorry for taking over the blog...You can have it back. After you let me know what you think? I'm not sure that any of these are finished yet....

Created experiences

Also, these are 16 by 20ish printouts. And sorry, the photos of these things aren't the greatest... The photographs I've painted on are snapshots, but the painted pieces are staged scenarios that the participant didn't participate in. Got it? I like the contrast between those two things.

Making myths.

Here's some stuff I've been making lately. Making marks on inkjet photos with paint, colored pencil, graphite, collage etc. I think I'll add some embroidery and maybe some beading some time. And more collage. With more materials. I've been thinking about how these images transform a "real" occurance into a myth/narrative/different environment. And create characters out of these people...

Modification of Checkout Hours for Senior Show

This semester's Senior Show is coming right up, on Tuesday, December 15th, and to facilitate and encourage the attendance of all students, photo checkout will be closing earlier on that date than the printed schedule indicates, at 5 pm instead of 10 pm. Photo Checkout will be closing at 5 pm on Tuesday, December 15th, instead of 10 pm. If you have work due on Wednesday, please consider this factor when planning your work schedule next week. Aside from this change, the printed and distributed photo checkout hours of operation should remain as-scheduled for the remainder of the semester. In case you were wondering, photo checkout will be open until 5 pm on Friday, December 18th, the final day of the semester, and will be formally closed after that date until the spring semester begins in January.

So you think you like horizontals...

Despite what it looks like, there is no white line on the bottom. These droids are of no interest to us.

Poster Roughs

Here's some roughs I made this morning and last night. They are cropped a bit tighter, its funnier that way. What do you think? I tried to use a playful font too, and added some hand drawn stuff to the last one. It pops the "Senior Thesis" out even more. Ya'll got any big ideas? I was thinking about hand drawing one completely... love, Augie. I've gotten a bunch of names from seniors too, send me yours if you plan on showing. They need to go on the poster.
