Also, these are 16 by 20ish printouts. And sorry, the photos of these things aren't the greatest... The photographs I've painted on are snapshots, but the painted pieces are staged scenarios that the participant didn't participate in. Got it? I like the contrast between those two things.

Making myths.

Here's some stuff I've been making lately. Making marks on inkjet photos with paint, colored pencil, graphite, collage etc. I think I'll add some embroidery and maybe some beading some time. And more collage. With more materials. I've been thinking about how these images transform a "real" occurance into a myth/narrative/different environment. And create characters out of these people...

Events this week

Whooooo! Art stuff!! Ian, Jace and Megan and Scott are in a show at Capelli's. This Thursday, 6 till 9. Cross the railroad tracks on Rouse, first right and take a right on Bond. I guess there's a bunch of photo stuff and something else going on, but I'm not sure...ask one of those kids or consult the flyers... * In other bozeman-art-world news, the Ceramics Guild Annual Chili Feed is the 17th and 18th (tuesday weds, 11-2) of this month. Buy a wonderful handmade bowl and it will be filled with tasty, zesty chili (vegetarians welcome!!). You can also purchase a handmade metal spoon! Oh, the wonders! Bowls $15, Spoons $5. * Yall better 'spec the poster around for the chili feed. Doodled by yours truly. * Ceramics Guild show at the Exit Gallery, Tuesday the 17th. 5 to 7 pm. Whoo!
