Opportunity to exhibit work... Blue/Gold Ball

On Saturday March 31st, 2012, the Blue and Gold Committee and MSU will be hosting the First Annual Black Tie Event ~ The Blue and Gold Ball.

The event is from 8pm to 12am in the Stand Union Ballrooms.

This will be an event for both alumni and students to come together and have an spectacular night with all the proceeds raised going to the Boys and Girls club of Gallatin Valley. President Cruzado will be speaking along with our very own Coach of the Year Mr. Rob Ash.

Along with silent auction items, the Blue and Gold Committee would like to exhibit the art and photography created by MSU Students. The goal is to have displays of students' work extending from the Ballrooms to Leigh Lounge.

If students want to apply for their art to be on display (and they could possibly sell their art!!) the following is needed:
  • Photograph of the Student
  • Name, Age, Major, and Year the student is
  • Pictures/Samples of their work
For more information please contact Michael Edwards at q59q462@gmail.com

I've been asked to spread the word that the Exit Gallery, the Office of International Programs, and the Leadership Institute are holding a photo contest, and it looks like it will be of particular interest to those of you who have travelled internationally, or are in places of an international persuasion right now. Here is the call for entries that was forwarded to me:

Kodak Film Grant

Greetings MSU Photo Students.....thought I'd pass on info for this delicious opportunity. Kodak and blogger/photographer Jake Stangel of Too Much Chocolate have teamed together to award ten photographers the film needed to complete (or begin) a personal project. For a small submission fee of $10, you'll have the chance to have your work viewed by a fantastic panel ....certainly worth the price of admission. Start baking with chocolate and submit! Two and a half messages from Checkout!

First message from checkout:  with the impending graduation of a crew made (mostly) of seniors, photo checkout needs student workers for the next academic year!  Interested?  Either click here for the information & application PDF, or visit photo checkout to pick up a printed copy.  Applications received by the end of this week (Friday, May 8th, 5 pm) will be given preference.

Second message from checkout:  You know those mostly empty showcases in the upstairs hallway of the VCB building, by the instructor offices?  I'm looking to fill those with your work!  I know finals season is a busy time, but I've extended the deadline, so if you have some work you'd like to display, either click here for the information PDF, or visit photo checkout to pick up a printed copy.

The half message from checkout is that I received an order from Freestyle, and I now have quite a few empty boxes available for people to take home and adopt.  Are you moving soon?  Do you need cardboard to get ready for an ambitious Halloween project?  Perhaps you have a litter of kittens that need a nice towel-lined place to sleep.  Come take a box!  You can have a bunch of styrofoam packing peanuts too, but those are optional, and not recommended for kitten use.
