Photography internship
The Montana State University News Service has an opening for fall semester for a news photography intern.
This is an unpaid, for-credit internship in a busy news bureau environment. The hours (6 per week) are flexible and based on the student’s class schedule. Assignments may occur on evenings or weekends.
The successful intern will possess the following attributes:
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Strong work ethic.
Punctuality and willingness to be a part of a team.
Necessary skills:
Junior or Senior in good standing within the School of Film and Photography.
Experienced with Adobe Photoshop and Mac computer platform.
Interest and willingness to learn the craft of editorial photography.
During the course of the internship the intern will gain experience with the following:
Adobe Lightroom
Soundslides Pro
Photo caption writing
News feature photography
Editorial portraiture and lighting
Photo essays
Editing
News video production
Sports photography
The intern will have the opportunity to expand their portfolio and have images published in various publications.
