I just purchased an
X-Rite Color checker Passport that comes with software that allows you to build color profiles for your camera. It works in Photoshop and Lightroom. So far I am very impressed. You can build profiles for all different lighting situations and then with the click of the mouse load them into any image in Camera RAW. For those of us who have trouble seeing subtle color issues this is fantastic. You can watch a video on how it works
here. Mac-on-Campus sells the kit for $79 to students. We should be able to get one for the department in the fall.
