Has anyone ever distressed color negatives? I am doing so for the first time and whenever I try to scan I get a cyanotype-like color cast that I can't get rid of. Assignment is due tomorrow and if I can't scan...I can't print. Help! Any suggestions?
Try Using the selective color tool in silverfast. If you use the eyedropper to click on the blue area, you can then use the color globe to reduce the blues, by pulling the blue from the outer circle towards the center.
Do you mean ruin your negatives. I really wish you would not use words like "distressing" just to make a process sound better. just kidding, but back to the task at hand. I would do exactly what Ian said. also you can use channel mixer in Photoshop to do basically the same thing.

What kind of distressing are you doing? I know when I burned negatives they scanned bright blue.
