White Balance?

Does any one know how easy it will be to white balance my color 4x5 negatives in photoshop after I scan them. Should I be shooting with a fluorescent filter on the lens or can my fluorescent color shift be fixed in photoshop?

  1. I think its fine to do it in photoshop, but i am interested in why you want to balance your light, in your images you have been using the light to your advantage, why change that?

  2. Marta, I give out a worksheet in 260 and 360 on this. If you do not have it, I can print one out for you.

  3. You could try using a grey card in different light setting, but I don't know how much it would be worth it...
And I agree with Steph, some of the images look great without a white balance :)

  4. Thanks Ian, I would love that sheet. Would it be easier to just email me the page? I'm going photographing tomorrow.
