Po-Mo Architecture

So these are the first few 4x5 negs from this semester's senior project. I am focusing on shape, texture, tone and new architecture from Montana ,Wyoming, and Idaho. Each bromoil print will be roughly 7x9 and printed full frame.......

Forever Family Exhibition - Leslie McDaniel and Tessa Lykins

SFP Network Meeting

Photo students and interested parties -

The School of Film & Photography's new director, Bob Arnold, will be in attendance at tomorrow night's SFP Network meeting. If you haven't met Dr. Arnold yet, and would like to get to know him a bit better, tomorrow's "town hall" event may be an excellent opportunity to ask questions and find out a little bit about our new director. The SFP Network (for all SFP students, not just film students!) will be meeting tomorrow evening, on Wednesday, September 23rd, at 6:30 pm in Studio B (that is, the Film studio, not the Photo studio).

Looking for cheap, used, and quality...

Hello collective! I was hoping I could call on you all to help me. Where should I start looking for slightly used, but still quality speedlights for my Cannon? I'm sure someone knows of a killer website! Also any speedlight websites you know of would rock too! I'm going to need the whole set up with stands and such.

260 Students hit the G-Trail

Here are just a couple of images from the afternoon 260 class. This was their first assignment for the color class with Color Negative film. I thought these were kinda silly. Looks like the doggy left a nice little gift for one of the students.

A Lighting Project Gone Right.

I used homemade light modifiers for these. I used a drinking glass over one of my strobes for a diffuser on the one with the girl on the wall and a drying rack for the one under the stairs. I think they turned out great.

Also on a side note: These pictures are really pixle-y and icky looking. I saved them at 1000pix on the longest dimension and 300 DPI as Jpegs, Is this wrong? If so please tell me a better way to upload images.

Groove Miners

This is a photo I took of my friend who is in a band. His band is called Groove Miners. The original image was strong but to get more of the feel of the band and the person I added some lighting effects. I feel it gives a feeling like he is in the spotlight doing a solo.

Intro Color Scans

If you couldnt guess this was also taken in the context of time. The soft feeling of the water gives a dream like feeling. The dark stick jutting out to the center adds a focal point and helps draw your eye around the image.

This image was taken to engage the edges. The strong element along the edge pulls your eye up and the reflection pulls your eye back down. Also the contrast between red coke cup and the blue/grey reflection of the sky make your eye go to the cup.

This is an image showing the passing of time. Time as an idea rather than a quantity. The river erodes and the roots grow over time.

First blog post. These are my color scans from the first project. They were taken on the Gallagator Trail.

Printing Out Negative Paper

These are a few shot that were taken last night on a 4x5 and a 5x7. they were shot on B and W VC fiber paper. just cut them to the right size, put them in a film holder and found a good exposure time, about 20-25 seconds.
