Bozeman

I'll be in Bozeman October 27th through the 29th! I'm flying back to do a couple shoots for my friends in Missoula, and making a week out of it. So I'll see you in a month kids!

to the other side of the sea and beyond

So Kat, Hunter and me decided to go to Croatia for the weekend. we left on a thursday night at 9 and after ten and a half hours of ferry across the Mediterianian Sea we arrived in the town of Split. After a cup of coffee we jumped on a 7 hour bus ride to Sarajevo. when we arrived a lady asked us if we need a place to stay and it was the best place ever and for only 10 euros a night. We stayed for the next two days and made the reverse journey back to the Italy. For a total of 40 hours of travel and 48 hours in Sarajevo, it was one of the best times ever. I recommend it to anyone

Eddie

My husband. I shot this while working on a project this afternoon. I sent it to his parents and they remarked that he looked "so serious." I guess they were looking for a smile. :)

SPE Dallas

I dont know if anyone has been thinking about it yet but anyone know they would like to go to SPE in Dallas? Im looking into plane tickets and hotel reservations and was wondering if anyone would like to share costs on a room. I figure if people just start posting and showing interest, we can match up people and what not. So who wants to go?

Photoshop maxes out at 4GB of RAM

If you're thinking about buying a new Mac Pro with more than 8GB of RAM, you might want to reconsider, because Photoshop CS3 can only use 4GB of RAM.

Unless you're doing high end video production (with 64-bit apps), then it's essentially useless to buy a Mac with more than 8GB of RAM, because it can't be used.

A 64-Bit version of Photoshop which will be able to use massive amounts of RAM, is still several years away because Apple has stopped development of the 64-Bit codebase which will allow Adobe and other software companies to release 64-bit version of their software.

Sadly, Photoshop CS4 for Windows will be 64-bit, allowing Windows Vista users to feed Photoshop as much RAM as they need.

There's a rumored workaround for Photoshop's RAM limit. If anyone tries this out, please spread the word. It's worth a shot if you work with massive files, such as 4x5 or 8x10 scans, or composites.

Hey guys! I'm sure Ian's been talking about it too, but just wanted to remind everyone that Critical Mass registration begins next week. I can't stress enough how great this competition is! It's only $50 to try your luck and if you make it to the top 150 it's another $250 this year. But that gets your work into the hands of 200 important people. It gets your work out there more than any show does. It's expensive but at SPE I had strangers coming up to my table telling me that they saw my work in Critical Mass, and it made me great connections in LA. Ask Brittany about her experience too, because it did great things for her as well!

It's worth a shot guys, I expect to see all of you on the top 150 list next spring!

For some reason my titles keep getting translated to some Arabic text. How do I fix that? I had my first photo shoot in LA today with Kei Ko. Yeah that's a boy... anyhoo I'm trying to build my fashion portfolio by working with some models from ModelMayhem.com. He was the first taker. It was a pretty interesting shoot in Little Tokyo which is AWESOME! I want to live there or something... It was good to get some experience shooting a complete stranger. Tonight I'm photographing an art opening in Santa Monica for Tom Huck. Getting paid, so I'm happy! Check my blog for non photo related updates about LA.
