Khwisero Wandering's

Some of my favorite memories from my time spent in Khwisero was walking home alone with nothing but my camera. These are a few of my favorite images captured during my moments of solitude.

Failed Breakfast

This is what happens when you cook bacon on a tray in the oven and your roommate leaves the stove burner on. You can probably guess what happens next.

Advise on Artist Statements from Aline Smithson

There are a few blog's that I visit everyday to keep up with what's going on in the photographic world, and to ultimately get inspired. Lenscratch was founded and is edited by Aline Smithson who review's many photographic bodies of work. She was the first person I thought of who could give valid insight into how to write an effective artist statement. This is what she had to say:
"I think the most effective statements come from the heart, not the head. Statements that have too much art speak, too many big vocabulary words feel un-genuine to me. I always approach my own statements from a personal perspective. I tell why I was drawn to the subject, what I connected with, and what I learned. You want to bring the viewer along with you on the journey and allowing them to connect with you and the work is important." Aline Smithson

Chimney Rock (Ghost Ranch) New Mexico in Abequeue

Hey All! Been a while since I've posted anything. Took an awesome trip to New Mexico to visit my sister in Santa Fe. We went all over. I was able to shoot a few rolls of BW while down there. Pretty Lights

Took these images with my pinholga wide at the Pretty Lights show in Missoula last night. The exposures range b/w 10-20mins and are hand held. Film used Kodak Porta 400NC.

First round of senior stuff

New Senior in the works.  I like the project as is but I feel that straight gelatin silver is selling it short.  I'm experimenting with the images a bit just to see what works.  For now here are some rough scans of the negatives. More scans/developments to come, swing on over to the leaky boat to check it out.

Fuji kills some more films.

http://www.japancamerahunter.com/2011/09/fujifilm-announcement-the-future-of-film/
Sad day that fuji is continually doing things like this. Sorry to all the large format and slide shooters out there that loved fuji. Just one more reason why I love Kodak so much, they are putting money towards film even though its "Dead".

Some stuff from summer

Some photo's from this summer with some expired film. Hopefully the light leak was only from when I was developing the film in my bathroom, and not from my camera. (these are just some quick scans)
