Lunar Eclipse Monday night

Just thought I'd post this here in case any of you are interested in Astro-photography. I noticed that there will be a total lunar eclipse on Monday night. It's supposed to start around 10:30 although not much will be noticable until after 11:30. Total eclipse is supposed to start at 12:40 am. More info here. Of course it might be too cloudy to see anything.

Serious Business

Here's a few images of friends in the studio a couple days ago, we had a belated Halloween.

Video Recap of MSU Portrait Day

video
I wanted to share Dan Buettner's video reflection for the Portrait Day event held on December 4th.  Students who chose to use this service-learning opportunity as their final in 342 were required to turn in a written and visual component summarizing the event.  Dan's movie is a great summary of the day.

New Stuff: Astronautalis- The Wondersmith and His Sons

Hello everyone! Just wanted to stop in and share something new we've been working extremely hard on. This is my first shot at directing a music video. The crew was made up almost exclusively of MSU grads. Bryant Jansen co-directed with me as well as shot a good portion of it, Steve Goodloe was the B camera operator, Germain Gulick was our assistant director, and James Fitzpatrick edited it and did visual effects for us. I first started listening to Astronautalis' music while working in Check Out at MSU, and due to twitter he and I became good friends and he trusted us with making a music video for him. We plan on starting production on another video with him in February. Hopefully it's the start of something cool for all of us!

Again, photo checkout's new hours for Tuesday, December 14th will be from 8 to 5 instead of until 10 o'clock.

MSU Portrait Day

Today Alexis's lighting class held the 1st MSU Portrait Day. The event was designed to give families a professional looking photograph that normally couldn't afford or have access to professional photographers. Each family received a cd with their images from the session as well as a 5x7 print donated from f11. Overall around 35 families were involved in the successful day.

Red Barn

I know that most of you hate barn images but I really like the way that this one worked out and wanted to share it with the rest of you.

Ilford?

Apparently rumors that Ilford is pulling out of the U.S. are untrue.
