Adobe Photoshop CS5 Upgrade FOR SALE!!!!

Hey photo peeps! So I logged onto B&H to find out what photoshop upgrade I needed and turns out their information isn't entirely accurate. I purchased the CS5 upgrade when I should have purchased the Adobe Creative Suite Premium Design CS5 upgrade. So now I'm out $200.00 on a great program that I cannot install on my computer and B&H won't take back something that has been opened even though I can't download it at all. So if anyone has Photoshop CS3 Extended, Photoshop CS3, Photoshop CS4 Extended, or Photoshop CS4 and wants to upgrade to CS5 please let me know. I paid $189.99 for the program, I ordered it like a week ago, it's never been installed on any computer, so I would like full price please, and if I have to ship it to you then obviously I'll want like $5.00 for shipping too. Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Internment Camp

HI ALL!!!!!!!
Hope everyone had an amazing summer. As school is nearing I am thinking about my Senior Thesis project. My hope is to photograph individuals who were in internment camps. Mainly would like to to focus on civilians that were interned because of their nationality. If anyone has any contacts, or knows of any individuals who would be helpful to talk to I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks,
libbie

Tessa's Wedding

Here are a few images from Tessa's wedding in June. She was absolutely gorgeous! It was really fun to photograph and I'll probably be posting more on my Facebook "Fans of Amanda Guy Photography Page" Hope everyone is having a great summer!

My Blog

Hi everybody.  I've been traveling around the west coast for the last couple months and blogging about it, if you're interested  check it out at shutterfaster.blogspot.com, I'd love to hear what anybody thinks.

Masking in Camera Raw

I stumbled on the Adjustment Brush tool in camera raw the other day and I'm hooked. It allows you to quickly mask exposure, contrast, and saturation adjustments without bringing the image into Photoshop.

This means you can fix hot areas of your image, brighten faces, etc., all without having to deal with big Photoshop files, because the changes are saved in your raw file. Just like any other raw adjustments, the changes are non-destructive and you can easily modify the masks later. Just make sure you're already using a DNG workflow, otherwise you're going to get separate, un-embedded (sidecar) files that store your raw changes.

The Adjustment Brush is available in Photoshop CS4 or later and Lightroom 2 or later.

Here are some real-world before and after examples of using the adjustment brush.

YouTube - (HD) Add drama with the Adjustment Brush in Photoshop CS4 & Lightroom 2 A quick primer on how to use the adjustment brush. Yes, this Brit's over processed images may burn your eyes, but you'll learn camera raw's powerful tool.

Volume 2 - Adam Caillier + Michael Mott

For its second volume, Location books features a collaborative experiment between artists Adam Caillier and Michael Mott, two “strangers with complimentary abilities and a malleable set of expectations” who employ a film camera as an extended-space-scanner to compose a cryptic series of abstract photographs specifically catered to serial pages. After finding common ground and setting arbitrary limits, the artists agreed upon a shared goal: “to produce ‘book pages.’” The result of this back-and-forth is a series of 2700 individual pages, turning each book in the Location edition of one hundred into a one-of-a-kind work of art. Caillier (with a background in photography) and Mott (a conceptual artist who often works with painting, collage and sculpture) subtly explore the nature of the "staged" photograph. The book represents a personal photographic vocabulary wherein the artists fabricate three-dimensional abstract collages from a variety of representational materials--such as backdrop paper, old xerox cards and used Daguerreotype plates. Ultimately, the artists were focused less on the photograph and more on the idea of the page. As stated by the artists: “the pages we produced continually play simple tricks with objects and images in space and on surfaces. We tried, in the end, to make a unified two-person book, to find and keep pace with each other, and to finish each decision simply before we started again, and again.” /////////////// Born in Wyoming, Adam Caillier graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 2010 with an MFA in Visual Studies in Photography. In 2009 he collaborated with artist Bruce Tapola for the exhibition Against Geometry Pt. 2 at Occasional Art in Saint Paul. Callier’s work is currently on display through October 2010 in the exhibition Ordinarily Here at the Weisman Art Museum. /////////////// Michael Mott was born and raised. His work has been shown at Art of This Gallery in collaboration with Justin Schlepp in 2009 and at They Won’t Find Us Here Gallery in 2010. He will also be published by Hot Off The in August 2010, hosted by the Soap Factory. He was, and will forever remain, artistic co-director of Seltzer Art Space. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Location - Volume Two Work by Adam Caillier and Michael Mott What: Opening reception, book sale and signing with the artists (Caillier and Mott) Where: 1618 Central Ave NE, Suite 227, Minneapolis, MN 55413 When: Saturday, August 14th, 2010, 7:00pm - 10:00pm IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Location is a quarterly publication of limited edition artists’ books featuring idea-based work in an array of two-dimensional media. Essentially a gallery between two hard covers, Location focuses on book-form installations and group exhibitions in print. Our mission is to collaborate with visual artists to produce new work specifically suited to a page-based format. Location promotes artists to a broader audience through a portable medium while providing a book-based experience of contemporary art. Still alive, still living on a bus

Hey everyone! Just wanted to check in. I'm still out on the Vans Warped Tour living on a bus for the summer. I've been updating my Tumblr a lot, so check it out if you haven't yet.

The photo above is from one of my jump seat creeper sessions. My friend ER plays guitar for the band Emarosa, the shorter guy is my bus mate David from Breathe Carolina.
